A note about natural stones and diamonds:
Natural stones and diamonds get their beauty from color deposits and refractive inclusions. Some rose cut diamonds have natural deposits that can appear in the surface. The rose cut diamonds are considered "Fancy Diamonds" and are not graded on the same scale as the traditional white diamonds. Diamonds certifications (such as GIA, IGI etc.) are never done on the fancy diamonds because they are prized for their unique inclusions and color fragments. Though very strong, please be careful with these one of a kind stones.
A note about "One of a Kind":
Many of the stones and diamonds I work with are truly one of a kind. This is not a marketing ploy- there is and only ever will be one of these stones that is just like the one labeled. I rarely come across two diamonds that are similar so replicating a sold piece is next to impossible though I may be able to find one that is close or has similar properties. Very rarely I have one or two stones cut from the same lot that are very similar to each other, but no two diamonds are ever the same. If you see a one of a kind diamond that you love please do not hesitate- once its gone its gone!
A note about micro-pave:
This type of setting is intricate to achieve the coveted delicate nature. SMM contracts all micro pave setting work out to a professional diamond setter who does this work 100% by hand. It is not uncommon for these types of settings to need a simple tightening occasionally, such as when professionally cleaning, or if ever resized in the future to prevent stone loss. After time it is not uncommon for these tiny diamonds to come loose- replacing or tightening is easily and inexpensively done. Pave work guaranteed secure at time of delivery.
A note about metal and now all small white diamonds:
All of the metal I use is 100% recycled from a green USA refiner. This means that all metal my supplier refines is recycled or up cycled metal and no new material has been sourced from the ground. And now all of my small white diamonds are reclaimed as well!
A note about white gold:
Most white gold on the market has been plated with rhodium- I do not rhodium plate my white gold. Rhodium is a very white metal and is used to "cover up" the white gold underneath. A good majority of the public is aware that after wearing a white gold piece for a period of time that it will "turn an ugly yellow" and will need to be re-plated with rhodium. This is only true of lesser quality white gold alloys often found in big box jewelry stores. I use a high quality bright white gold alloy. This alloy is brighter white and does not have a dingy yellow hue to it, but a subtle shiny white warm glow and will NEVER need to be plated.
- Most rings can be resized, those that cannot will be labeled accordingly
- The most reliable way to know your size is to have at least two qualified jewelers professionally size you- there is slight variability between all jewelers.
- Please note that the same size rings with different band widths will fit differently. For example a true size 8 in a 4mm band will fit tighter than a true size 8 in a 1.5mm band. SMM will do its best to accommodate for this when sizing.
- Current weather conditions also affect most people regarding size- in the winter your rings will tend to fit looser and in the summer tighter.
- Resizing fee: $15- buyer pays return shipping. Diamond engagement rings include a one time complimentary sizing.
